Job Title: Inhouse News Editor

Riviera Maritime Media is seeking an inhouse news editor 

 

Riviera Maritime Media provides news coverage across a range of maritime and offshore industry sectors. We cover a mix of technical, operational, financial, legal and regulatory stories and provide insight into how these developments impact the sectors we cover. 

 

The position requires that the editor works closely with our in-house teams to provide timely, accurate information throughout the day online and in newsletters. Our online content is also featured in our magazines. Training and support will be provided as necessary. 

 

We are open-minded when it comes to the candidate but the successful candidate is likely to have either experience of news writing / demonstrated a commitment to a career in journalism. They are likely to have experience of sourcing articles and pitching ideas. The candidate will relish writing/getting their teeth into news stories on topics across the maritime and offshore spectrum.

 

The candidate should be motivated to work online and have a flair for writing crisp, clean, copy for a time-poor audience.

 

The candidate will be expected to pick-up and demonstrate an understanding of what makes our news content important and usable for our audience.

 

Duties:

Writing news articles in line with the needs of specific audiences.

Edit, proof and rewrite copy to improve readability and ensure consistency

Verify facts, dates and details. 

Demonstrate an ability to edit to house style/editorial policy
